All Music Guide Review
The music on this LP is taken from two concerts in 1974 that were part of the Manassas Jazz Festival. Featured is the highly expressive cornetist Wild Bill Davison, shortly before he spent several years in Europe. The backup group changes a few times and the music overall is a jam session, with Davison performing a variety of Dixieland warhorses, including "I Want to Be Happy," "Sweet Georgia Brown," and "Runnin' Wild"; Natalie Lamb sings "A Good Man Is Hard to Find" and "Evil Hearted Woman." Although the ensembles are sometimes overcrowded, Davison's playing makes this one of the better live Fat Cat releases. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
