Get Down Tonight: The Best of Disco

All Music Guide Review
As far as budget-line compilations with horrible artwork and less than generous track lists are considered, Get Down Tonight: The Best of Disco isn't too bad, as it compiles original versions of songs that were, indeed, hits -- though not all of them are truly disco, or even released during the disco era. Regardless, here are 12 hits, all from the '70s, which shouldn't slow down any decent party. Highlights include Foxy's "Get Off," Sister Sledge's "He's the Greatest Dancer," Chic's "Good Times," Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell," and the Trammps' "Disco Inferno." There are hundreds of disco compilations that top this in terms of scope and packaging. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
