    All Music Guide Review

We Call It Acieeed isn't a thorough documentation of the acid house movement that germinated in Chicago and hit full bloom in England, but it's a pretty impressive set that does a rather good job of capturing its essence, despite the fact that single edits are often used in favor of their full-length -- and therefore regularly superior -- counterparts. Chicago classics, like Phuture's trailblazing "Acid Tracks," Adonis' "No Way Back," Mr. Fingers' "Washing Machine," Steve "Silk" Hurley's "Jack Your Body," and Frankie Knuckles and Jamie Principle's "Baby Wants to Ride," are featured. U.K. tracks, such as A Guy Called Gerald's "Voodoo Ray," 808 State's "Pacific State," M/A/R/R/S' "Pump Up the Volume," and S'Express' "Fly Guy," also figure into the scheme. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
