    All Music Guide Review

Rhino's 2002 release The Boys Are Back in Town is a video release of Thin Lizzy, performing live at the Sydney Opera House in Australia in October of 1978. The band was just exiting their peak of popularity and now featured Gary Moore on guitar. Although this hardly compares to Killers Live -- it may have had some studio overdubs, but it remains one of the great live albums of the '70s -- given the scarcity of video of Thin Lizzy from the '70s (especially on DVD), even a standard, straightforward, rather brief (it's only 41 minutes) concert like this is welcome for fans. The DVD contains a 5.1 audio track, plus the 2001 Mojo Magazine article "Appetite for Destruction" by James McNair, which functions as an exhaustive, revealing bio that is the best special feature here (also included is a selected discography). ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi
