This is the third release by this East Coast pianist who has played with The Paul Winter consort prior to casting his lot with the plethora of piano players in this growing marketplace. Folk Art succeeds not only because he has added an ensemble sound following two solo piano releases but as a result of the surrounding musicians that he incorporates so well into his enchanting playing. The inimitable Eugene Friesen adds cello and Jon Clarke plays french horn, and this core trio is supported by trumpet and flugelhorn from Steve Perrett with Cyro Baptista on percussion. ~ Backroads Music/Heartbeats, All Music Guide
