Like Fashion TV's 2001 mix of smooth, sensual house, the 2002 Spring-Summer update focuses on that narrow subgenre of stylish dance music occupied by increasingly innovative producers. The results are just as fresh as on the first, with distinctive choices; a fluid, progressive mix; and -- most surprising of all -- something to offer for catwalk strutters and electronica fans alike. There are perhaps a few more inclusions from European performers than before, with Yann Fontaine, Stéphane Pompougnac, and Benjamin Diamond leading the way. Among the highlights are Herbert's "Leave Me Now," the driving remix of St. Germain's "Alabama Blues" by top garage producer Todd Edwards, Kaori's jubilant cover of the Detroit techno anthem "Good Life," and Aquanote's lush remix of "Waiting Line" by Zero 7. One caveat: The mix often lags behind the stated track-listing. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
