In the fall of 2002, Reunion Records released Michael W. Smith's VHS/DVD Worship. The project features songs from his albums Worship and Worship Again, and focuses on leading viewers into a time of worshipping God. Songs include "Step By Step," "Breathe," and "O Come Let Us Adore Him."
Throughout the video, it is clear that Smith does not desire to be the center of attention. He enters from the back, walking down the aisles and through the audience. This choice of entrance communicates his desire not to set himself up as a "star," but instead to facilitate and participate. As the project continues, Smith does not hide how emotionally moved he is by the presence of God. Instead, he allows himself to appear broken and humbled.
Visually, Worship is both well-shot and well-edited. The project includes frames of vibrant color, black-and-white, blue-tinted and split screens. Shown completely in letterbox format, the look of the video is artsy, yet not overdone enough to distract from the goal of the project, which is worshipping God. ~ Ashleigh Kittle Slater, All Music Guide
