Soulful Little Johnny Taylor's brand of shuffling R&B/Blues is exploited fully on this reissue of his debut album originally released on Galaxy Records in 1962. The grandiose horns are spectacular and impressive, and the lyrics express real-life, down-to-earth love dramas. A signifying blues guitar makes both draggers "Part Time Love" and "Found a New Love" totally mesmerizing. There's not a hint of mere filler among the ten tracks.
