Based on the disc's title, Cherrie Blue (aka British dancer/singer Ruth McArdle) doesn't subscribe to "Just Say No"; based on tracks such as "Cyber Sex Man" and "Mama's Sugar" (which isn't about a passed-down cookie recipe), she doesn't like to say no in any circumstance. But that's to be expected from someone who played with both Lords Of Acid and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, whose Buzz McCoy produces Chemical Messiah. The debut is a sexy, drug-addled romp through the same territory that McCoy's group has mined for years, with possibly some more straightforward odes to classic disco and less attention to guitar being the main deviation. ~ Brian O'Neill, All Music Guide
