On this CD, guitarist Rene Toledo displays a very attractive sound (especially on the acoustic guitar) and a swinging style on the occasional straight-ahead track, but his generally trivial if not downright mediocre pop originals are not worthy of his abilities, too often casting him in the role of a weak Earl Klugh. Even trumpeter Arturo Sandoval is overly restrained during his one appearance. The set of overly sleepy music can be easily passed by. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
