This compilation from Empire Music indeed features 16 alt-metal tracks from bands who fall into the nu-metal sound. There are some recognizable names here, like Queens of the Stone Age with "Regular John," Coal Chamber with "Loco," and Machine Head with "Supercharger," as well as some up-and-comers like Glassjaw, whose "Siberian Kiss" is a grinding gem, and Workhorse Movement, who contributes the nu-metal call to arms "Keep the Sabbath Dream Alive." The rest of the groups are more obscure, but fans of the genre will be glad for the chance to discover new acts. Seek and Destroy: 16 Nu-Metal Extremes is by no means a definitive overview of the nu-metal scene, as it leaves off most of the front-line bands involved, but will be a nice pickup for those who wish to delve deeper into the alternative metal sound. ~Tim Sendra, All Music Guide
