All Music Guide Review

Portland rappers U-Krew landed a Top 30 pop hit with their 1990 The U-Krew. "If U Were Mine" was among the last romantic/love-style singles to make much headway on the hip-hop scene, and a moderately successful follow-up single, "Let Me Be Your Lover," helped get the album onto the lower reaches of the pop chart. Of course, Kevin Morse's sentimental vocals probably had more to do with this than the raps or production. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
