All Music Guide Review

After two albums of Tex-Mex country-rock, Sisters Morales go back to their roots with an album of the songs they grew up singing in Tucson. The all-Spanish collection finds them singing passionately of love over acoustic arrangements heavy on guitar, guitarron, accordion, and violin. The songs are familiar ones, such as "Cucurrucucú Paloma," though somehow the old Frank and Nancy Sinatra hit "Somethin' Stupid" also sneaks in, under the title "Algo Tonto," and sounds just fine. This music has always been a part of the mixture of styles Sisters Morales have drawn upon, and the album, dedicated to their mother, who kindly wrote English translations of the lyrics for the CD booklet, demonstrates their mastery of the form. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
