Ring of Fire is a 12" EP that features an otherwise unavailable remix/edit of the title track (nearly two minutes shorter than the original version) and "The Morricone Themes," a live medley of Ennio Morricone's "Hang 'Em High" and "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." Wall of Voodoo's pulsing, synth-driven cover of "Ring of Fire" is one of their best recordings, and earned the group some early praise (not to mention winding up on the soundtrack to the avant-garde adult film Night Dreams). "The Morricone Themes" is an early manifestation of the groups' fascinating preoccupation with Western music, and was later reissued on The Index Masters CD. ~ Greg Adams, All Music Guide
