This collection embraces the pop-oriented ballads and occasional standards recorded by the quintet between 1950-1955, fronted by Clyde McPhatter and Jackie Wilson, McPhatter's successor. There are some great vocal acrobatics, especially on "When the Swallows Come Back to Capistrano" (McPhatter). Wilson's only claim to lead work on this collection is his reading of "Tenderly."
