The soundtrack to the 1995 Meg Ryan alcoholism melodrama When a Man Loves a Woman leads off with the Percy Sledge soul classic which lends the film its title; however, outside of Los Lobos' "El Gusto (Son Huasteco)" and Brian Kennedy's unnecessary cover of Van Morrison's "Crazy Love," the remainder of the disc is made up of Zbigniew Preisner's overwrought instrumental score. Recommended solely for fans of the movie. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
