Lyrics from Broadcasts and Rarities
All Music Guide Review
The first of two Lee Wiley Jass Lp's feature the legendary singer on radio broadcasts from 1936 and 1938, private acetates from the late 1930's, appearances on a 1950 radio show, four previously unknown duets with pianist Joe Bushkin (probably from the early 1960's) and two songs from a 1959 television show. In general the recording quality is better than expected (although some songs have surface noise) and Lee Wiley's singing sounds generally inspired. This is a valuable addition to Wiley's legacy. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
