All Music Guide Review

Even when it approaches sappiness, the Hang Ups' clean, direct, jangling indie pop is utterly charming -- the band has a wonderful sense of vocal harmonies that makes the title track of the Comin' Through EP very memorable. Aside from the band's closest fans, however, not many listeners will find the EP as valuable as the group's full-length work -- it does feature their cover of Husker Du's cover of "Eight Miles High" (from the Du Huskers tribute album, on which various Twin Cities bands made a track-by-track recreation of the seminal Zen Arcade), but one of the five tracks is lifted from the Clean' release He's After Me, and the others don't live up to the more polished pop sound the band later achieved. ~ Nitsuh Abebe, All Music Guide
