This may be an "all-star session" but this LP fails to list either the personnel or the recording date. A so-so Dixieland date with cornetist Muggsy Spanier, trombonist Jimmy Archey and clarinetist Darnell Howard, pianist Earl Hines (although he is nominally the leader) sounds out of place playing "Bill Bailey" and "When the Saints Go Marching In." It was the beginning of a decade of critical neglect for the great pianist. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
