The first of a series chronicling the fascinating history and music of the Indian film world. Taking from movies made between 1955-1981, Golden Voices includes ten fine examples of the hyper eclectic sounds commonly heard in the thousands of films the Indian film industry has made (they out produce Hollywood by a long shot). This first volume mostly features vintage sides from the '50s and '60s, with a majority of the songs containing a widescreen mix of traditional Indian music and Western classical and pop elements.
