Gaston is one of the major names in lover's zouk, but his recordings are greatly enlivened by his (or his arrangers') Catholic taste. Despite the fact that most of the musicians are exceedingly familiar, the sound is not hackneyed. In this album, the backings include a fair amount of rock guitar; a flash of salsa piano; bop-tinged Latin-jazz horns, and some elegant muted trumpet. All of this, moreover, has been done without straying from the basic zouk sound. ~ John Storm Roberts, Original Music, All Music Guide
