This hard country album has a cerebral twist, as the title song suggests. David Ball, 41 when this album came out, had a craggy Texas face and a voice to match. When he has material to match, such as with "Thinkin' Problem" or the ballad "When the Thought of You Catches up with Me," he's the kind of singer neo-traditionalist country fans dream about. ~ Brian Mansfield, All Music Guide
