Jim McGrath

Not since Earth Tribe Rhythms has a drum release generated such enthusiasm. It is no surprise, therefore, to find out that Jim McGrath worked with Brent Lewis on his popular release The Primitive Truth. On his own, with capable support, McGrath takes listeners into meditative and hypnotic pieces sculpted around an organic approach to rhythm. This allows the sound to expand and change according to its own whims. He achieves a primal, natural sound, unencumbered by high-tech sound manipulations. The four 15-minute tracks become true percussive environments -- essentially a soundtrack to the movie in the listener's mind.
