All Music Guide Review

Bay Area trailblazer JT the Bigga Figga entered the independent label business early on, launching both Get Low Records and his prolific solo career in 1994. Playaz n' the Game, the debut for both Get Low and JT, certainly made its mark, as the rapper considerably differed from his many other West Coast colleagues at the time. Unlike the masses of gangstas down in Los Angeles, JT came hard, yet he emphasized creativity as much as delivery, associating himself with the burgeoning West Coast alt-rap scene of the time as much as with N.W.A. This album is his blueprint, and though its quality leaves room for improvement, its impact is just as important to consider, if not more so. San Quinn also makes his debut here. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
