Here lies a surprisingly enjoyable low-budget compilation of minor hits from the early days of MTV. There's one major hit (Matthew Wilder's jaunty "Break My Stride"), a few minor hits, and several forgotten post-new wave rock tracks. However, just because they're forgotten doesn't mean they're deservedly so, this collection reminds us with its inclusion of Red Rockers' sprightly "China" and the surprisingly touching "My Oh My" from glam stalwarts Slade. A few of the tracks aren't up to snuff -- there's a reason, for instance, Tommy Tutone's "Angel Say No" wasn't the hit "867-5309" was -- but on the whole, this package is a nice way to fill in some worthwhile gaps in your '80s library for relatively little money. ~ Joseph McCombs, All Music Guide
