    All Music Guide Review

A fitting tribute to Berry Gordy, Jr., Motown's mastermind. Gordy wrote every song except for "We Couldn't Get Along Without," "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye," and "Did You Know." Includes new, previously unreleased recordings, and older selections. The best cut is a remarkable, rousing version of the Contours' "Do You Love Me" by the Temptations; Ali Woodsen sings lead, and it's better than the original. Stevie Wonder's dreamy remake of an early Temptations recording, "Dream Come True," is a close second; the Tempts supply the backing vocals. Berry's two biggest Jackie Wilson hits, "To Be Loved" and "Lonely Teardrops," glitter like gold, as well as "Money" by Barrett Strong, the song that got the Motown rolling. ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide
