All Music Guide Review
Sounds of the Seventies: 1977 -- Take Two is another fine entry in a fine series from Time Life that picks up where Sounds of the Seventies: 1977 leaves off. It collects 21 songs that made the year what it was, while drawing from a wide range of styles and genres. It provides both a fine introduction to the year's music and a highly entertaining exercise in nostalgia, and either way it is a blast. The disc has some fine pop/rock (ELO's "Do Ya," Steve Miller's "Jet Airliner," the Babys' "Isn't It Time"), funk (the Commodores' "Brick House"), disco (Heatwave's "Boogie Fever," Rose Royce's "Car Wash"), and soft rock (Leo Sayer's "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing"). The two Sounds of the Seventies: 1977 CDs paint a vibrant picture of the year and are near essential listening for '70s music fans. ~ Tim Sendra, All Music Guide
