    All Music Guide Review

Sounds of the Seventies: AM Heavy Hits collects 18 tunes from the more rocking end of the AM spectrum. As heavy as Crow's "Evil Woman Don't Play Your Games with Me" and as light as Hotlegs' "Neanderthal Man," the songs are a pretty diverse bunch ranging from blues-influenced hard rock by Bad Company ("Good Lovin' Gone Bad") and Free ("Stealer"), slick AOR by Boston ("Long Time") and Eddie Money ("Two Tickets to Paradise"), soaring power pop by the Raspberries ("Go All the Way"), rump-shaking glam by Gary Glitter ("I Didn't Know I Loved You [Till I Saw You Rock and Roll]"), and spacy new wave by the Cars ("Good Times Roll"). There isn't a weak track in the bunch and you could do a lot worse when looking for a record that paints a picture of the '70s rock scene in only 18 tracks. Another fine release by the wizzes at Time-Life. ~ Tim Sendra, All Music Guide
