On the second of a pair of two-CD sets, once again the emphasis is on recreations of swing-era hits taken from the 1950s. There are a few selections apiece from such orchestras as Glen Gray, Harry James, Benny Goodman, Les Brown, Artie Shaw's 1968 ghost band, Kay Kyser, Freddy Martin, Count Basie, Charlie Barnet, Bob Crosby, Woody Herman (including the original version of "Early Autumn"), Ray Anthony, and even Duke Ellington. However these recreations are generally not too exciting and why listen to this music when the earlier renditions are available? The pair of two-fers are only of modest interest to jazz collectors. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
