At 16 tracks, Telecommunications contains nearly twice the number of songs as The Best of A Flock of Seagulls (excluding that set's two remixes). While that is probably much more than most listeners will want of A Flock of Seagulls, more interested fans will be delighted. Telecommunications includes all four of the Liverpool quartet's American chart singles and the other songs are primarily from the band's early period. Some of their stronger album tracks such as the hyperkinetic delights "Modern Love Is Automatic" and "(It's Not Me) Talking" flesh things out with enjoyable, unreleased material like "Committed" and "Living in Heaven." Fairly extensive liner notes add to the quirky, mindless fun. For fans who recall more than "I Ran," Telecommunications is a fine snapshot of one of the better-remembered icons of early-'80s synth-rock. ~ Tom Demalon, All Music Guide
