Dark Moon: The Best of Gale Storm

Lyrics from Dark Moon: The Best of Gale Storm
All Music Guide Review
Dark Moon is an 18-track collection of Gale Storm's mid- to late-'50s Dot recordings that includes all but one of her hits and a few previously unreleased tracks. Storm's version of Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers' "Why Do Fools Fall in Love," with her flawless enunciation and pop backing, makes Pat Boone sound like a soul man. Storm's hit covers of R&B songs are square beyond belief, and her mature-sounding voice contrasts humorously with the teen-oriented material. Dark Moon is loads of nostalgic fun for those who remember Storm from her prime, and, for everyone else, it's an interesting slice of history from the days when bleached-white R&B ruled the charts. ~ Greg Adams, All Music Guide
