    All Music Guide Review

    This 26-track compilation of Mimms' work between 1963 and 1966 (including his entire 1963 debut LP) is roughly equal in merit to the U.S. The Best of Garnet Mimms compilation. Each focuses upon the singer's prime; each largely duplicates the other's track selection; and each has some songs that are not on the other. The most notable item here that isn't on the American compilation is "It Won't Hurt (Half as Much)," which was also recorded by Them in the mid-'60s. The U.S. anthology, however, rates a slight edge: it's easier to locate (in North America, that is), and has the crucial track "My Baby" (covered by Janis Joplin), which is missing from this British comp. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
