    All Music Guide Review

Phil Bodner has long been known as a flexible studio musician, so this outing for JazzMania (on which Bodner is joined by pianist Derek Smith, bassist Milt Hinton, and drummer Bob Rosengarden) was a special event. Sticking to clarinet, Bodner jams his way through 11 familiar standards, sounding quite individual and occasionally heated in the swing idiom. The strong supporting cast and the attractive (if familiar) chord changes of songs such as "Them There Eyes," "After You've Gone," and "Bill Bailey" make this an enjoyable set. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
