The material is eccentric (with The Beatles' "Ooo-bla-di, Ooo-bla-dah" and Mick Jagger's "Honky Tonk Women" included along with some basic originals) and the graphics on this cheap-looking LP are cheesy but the music is better than expected. Tenor-saxophonist Jackie Kelso, baritonist Bill Hood, guitarist Jimmy Wyble, pianist Bob Harrington, bassist Harry Babasin and drummer Roy Harte form a colorful sextet whose music falls between bop and R&B. Nothing all that substantial occurs but this album is reasonably enjoyable despite its faults and the erratic material. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
