The closest to true ambience of any in the series, this fourth volume includes various artists' exploration of reverb, echo and delay effects. As such, only three tracks have any sort of beat. Though this lack of definition could scare off listeners, the appearance of nontraditional ambient practitioners Flying Saucer Attack and Labradford, along with usual stalwarts 777 and Future Sound of London (as Far-Out Son of Lung), makes for an interesting listening experience. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
