Submit Your ReviewThe selection of some of the tracks is a little puzzling but Hip Hop Back in the Day is a good budget-priced collection, considering its price. There are some big names here -- Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash, Boogie Down Productions, Treacherous Three and Kevy Kev -- but they're not necessarily represented by their best-known songs. Still, the fact that it contains "We Wanna Rock," "South Bronx," "Scorpio," and "Criminal Minded" makes the collection worthwhile. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
