    All Music Guide Review

    This compilation, released by Boston indie label Ace of Hearts, samples the work of its artists from the early '80s to the mid-'90s. The material on The Wasted Years ranges from the brilliant and visceral lo-fi Midwestern post-punk of Lyres, the Del Fuegos, and Mission of Burma (tending to be of an early-'80s vintage) to mediocre (much of the later stuff).
