Christopher Young established his mastery of the thriller genre with his breakthrough 1992 score Jennifer 8, and he reaffirms his artistry with Copycat, composing a chillingly dissonant suite that lends real tension to a film sorely lacking in such stuff. Whether wrought from traditional symphonic elements or abrasive electronic effects, Young's themes are rich in menace and portent -- moments of conventional beauty are simply a façade, temporarily masking the evil that lurks in the shadows around each melodic corner. With each successive score, Young's consummate craftsmanship continues to impress -- it's a shame so many of his finest scores are attached to such lousy films. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
