The Jerky Boys movie might have been an unqualified disaster, but the soundtrack is another matter entirely. Featuring the standard selection of alternative rock stars, the album surprisingly manages to be more than the conventional collection of mediocre tracks. Instead, there's some energy and life to the performances, particularly on such inspired moves as L7's cover of "Hangin' on the Telephone." It's still not a great album -- there are a number of flat tracks -- but it is unexpectedly enjoyable. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
