    Billboard Hot R&B Hits 1988 features some of the year's most popular contemporary R&B singles, including Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative," Al B. Sure's "Nite and Day," and Pebbles' "Girlfriend." Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers' "Tumblin' Down" and Tony! Toni! Tone!'s "Little Walter" are some of the other standouts on this album, which also features tracks by Teddy Pendergrass, Freddie Jackson, Levert, and Boys. Though it's not an especially well-focused collection, it does a fine job of collecting the year's biggest R&B hits. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
