All Music Guide Review

Battering out adrenalized punk-pop like the ignoble West Coast revivalism of Pennywise and blink-182, Unwritten Law stakes its claim on tolerably catchy riffs and singalong choruses that make Green Day seem like Laurie Anderson futurists. Wade Youman's convulsive drumming keeps things alive only to an extent. Like many in the Southern California area, they probably assume there's an inherent countercultural statement in photocopying old Undertones records or tackling weighty subjects like hating surfers and getting rejected by girls. ~ Dean Carlson, All Music Guide
