All Music Guide Review
The first of a seemingly fine series from MVP Records. Contains groove-driven '70s sounds from forgotten artists like Jeannie Reynolds -- the Dramatics' L. J. Reynolds sister -- who performs the "Fruit Song," and few hit wonders: Keni Burke's "Rising to the Top," and Systems' "Don't Disturb the Groove." Not all are slow drags, as attested by Rufus & Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody," and the O'Jays' "Use to Be My Girl." Stand outs include Dennis Edwards' "Don't Look Any Further," Maze's "Joy & Pain," and Bobby Caldwell's jazzy "What You Won't Do For Love." ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide
