    All Music Guide Review

March was primarily known in the United States as a waifish girl group singer, but she experienced her greatest success in Germany as a far more MOR pop-oriented vocalist. German and Swiss rock fans still cringe at the mention of her name, as it brings to mind not "I Will Follow Him," but the kinds of treacly Lieder to which rock provided a much-needed alternative. This has 31 of her German-language recordings from 1963-66, and may not even be a suitable investment for Peggy March fans. The material is soggy adult-oriented Europop, often with a stodgy oom-pah beat, sometimes attempting to emulate Nashville country, a losing proposition if there ever was one (not so much because of March, but because most of the sides were produced in Berlin). A few of these are merely overdubbed German vocals over some of her lesser-known American pop-rock sides, and a few of the other cuts have modest teen pop elements. But pop-rock and girl group fans are advised to approach this import with caution, because in the main you'll finding nothing of the sort here. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
