Knight's stint for the Buddah label in the mid-'70s found her commercial success at its peak, landing hits like "Midnight Train to Georgia," "Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me," "Part Time Love," and "The Way We Were" (all included here). This 17-track survey of 1973-78 material...finds her and the Pips easing into a middle-of-the-road sound that helped pave the way for mellow urban contemporary music. This compilation...does omit the huge hit "I've Got to Use My Imagination," presumably because it's too uptempo to find a place on an anthology geared toward the quiet storm audience, but overall, that audience won't be disappointed. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
