    Not to be confused with Profile's Diggin' in the Crates series, Hot Productions' Diggin' the Crates takes on a theme with each volume. The second volume focuses on early electro and hip-hop from the West Coast. Though some tracks made a nationwide splash, several were regional hits that would help inspire the steady rise of West Coast artists throughout the '80s and on through the '90s. World Class Wreckin' Cru's "Surgery," the Egyptian Lover's "Egypt, Egypt," Rodney O & Joe Cooley's "Everlasting Bass," L.A. Dream Team's "The Dream Team Is in the House," Toddy Tee's "Batterram," the Arabian Prince's "Situation Hot," and Uncle Jamm's Army's "Dial-a-Freak" are featured.
