The fourth of six LPs put out by the Australian Swaggie label continues the documentation of clarinetist Jimmie Noone's recordings as a leader including his rare alternate takes. Because pop singer Elmo Tanner (who is tolerable) is on eight of the 17 numbers, this album is not as valuable as the previous three volumes. However Georgia White on "When You're Smiling" is better, and there is plenty of solo space for Noone (who is generally backed by either Joe Poston or later on Eddie Pollack playing the melody) and Earl Hines soundalike Zinky Cohn. Best are "El Rado Scuffle," "I Lost My Gal from Memphis" and the two previously unissued versions of "San." ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
