Lyrics from Two Divided by Love
All Music Guide Review
The Kendalls began their career turning pop songs into minor country hits. After making their chart debut with "Leaving on a Jet Plane" for the Stop label, they moved to Dot Records, where they recorded one LP, Two Divided by Love. The album produced two hits: the title track, a Grass Roots song that provides a showcase for the Kendalls' tight harmonies while negotiating some unusual chord changes for country music, and Bread's "Everything I Own," which is practically a solo turn by Jeannie Kendall. The song "Two Divided by Love" is one of the Kendalls' finest performances -- far better (and more enduring in their stage act) than its modest chart placement suggests. Nothing else on the album is as immediately gripping, but it is a consistent effort with a pair of notable Jeannie Kendall originals and a good cover of Dickey Lee's "Never Ending Song of Love." Two Divided by Love was reissued by Pickwick in 1979. ~ Greg Adams, All Music Guide
