    All Music Guide Review

    As one of the key groups to set the Celtic music revolution rolling in Canada, the Rankin Family definitely has their place in the country's musical tapestry. As a compilation of the band's early years, the Rankin Family Collection contains pretty much all the hits, and a fairly good sampling of all the aspects of the band: pop/country, original/traditional, male/female vocals, acoustic/lush. To be fair, the compilation tends to lean away from the more overtly Celtic material that the band does and more toward the polished pop numbers.
