    80's Greatest Rock Hits, Vol. 8: Dance Party is a budget-priced collection that features nine dance-pop, rap, new wave and dance/club from the early '80s. Although the compilation is a little brief, all of the songs are quite good, making this an excellent bargain, considering its price. Among the highlights are Tone-Loc's "Funky Cold Medina," Taylor Dayne's "Tell It to My Heart," ABC's "When Smokey Sings" and Soul II Soul's incomparable "Back to Life," possibly the greatest dance single of the late '80s. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
