This collection of pop-soul produced in the United Kingdom will not be everybody's cup of tea. U.K. soul is lighter than American soul and doesn't have the edge; only the Jimmy Ruffin tracks "I'm Gonna Love You Forever," "Holding On," and "Young Heart (Hang On)" provide any musical escapism. Honorable mentions go to the Faces for "Searching" and "Haven't Stop Dancing Yet," and the two Jimmy James tracks, "Love Fire" and "Reach Out."
